Are there food stalls?

Yes, Ellerslie businesses will be open with a wide variety of options to satisfy all taste buds. Plus, there'll also be some food trucks within the General Collective Kids Market. 

Is there live entertainment?

Absolutely, we have live entertainment including performances by fairies, pirates and friends. Find out more on the 'plan your day' page. 

Can we buy crafts at the event?

Yes, there are craft markets where you can purchase unique handmade items, focussed on kids.

Plus, Michael Park School will also be selling a range of crafts made by their school community. 

Are there photo opportunities?

Yes, many characters and themed areas provide perfect spots for memorable photos.

Where are the toilets?

There's toilets available at the following locations: portaloos on Findlay St, very near the Bridge of Memories; public toilets, on the corner of Arthur Street and Main Highway and the War Memorial Hall has toilets which will also be open to use.

Do you have a facility for families?

The Plunket room in the War Memorial Hall will be open for baby changing and breastfeeding. Plus there’s a change table in the public toilets, and hall toilets too.

Where can I park for the festival?

Ellerslie’s main street (Main Highway) will be closed for the duration of the festival as will the Village’s carparks at Arthur St and Robert St.

Parking in Ellerslie’s residential streets is available.

Plus there's the following options:

  • One Tree Hill College’s carpark on Great South Road (it’s a 10min walk through the tunnel and into Ellerslie. Follow the signs)
  • Ellerslie School, Kalmia St
  • Heart Foundation, Kalmia Street

Some disability parking is available in the Ramsgate St carpark.

How do I get to the festival on public transport?

Bus: bus routes will be diverted and won't come through Ellerslie Village due to the road closures.

Bus Stops: #7505, #7504 situated in Ellerslie Village (and within the road closure) are closed. 

  • Temporary bus stop for #7505 is relocated outside #1 Amy Street 
  • Temporary bus Stop for #7504 is relocated opposite #1 Amy Street 

Train: trains aren’t running on Sunday 8 September, but the RBS and RBO rail replacement buses will be connecting all train stations on the Onehunga and Southern lines, including Ellerslie.

The RBS and RBO rail replacement buses stop on Kalmia Street - from there it's a 3min walk over the motorway overbridge to Ellerslie Village.

Children aged 15 years and younger travel free on AT’s buses on weekends. They just need to tag on with their AT HOP card with a Child concession applied. For more information see here.

Can I be a stallholder at the festival?

The event organisers don’t bring stall holders into the event. We work in partnership with the General Collective Market who curate a kids’ market. If you’re interested in being at the event, please contact the market organisers who can provide you some further information regarding applying to be involved. I have a food truck, or food stall, and I'd like to be involved in the festival.

We don’t bring food stalls into the event; we utilise the businesses within Ellerslie Village for food and beverage offerings. There are so many great food options to tempt everyone's taste buds!
